Mulberry Contractors have successfully tendered for the landscaping works at Kingsbridge estates latest development; Project Avatar.
This is a commercial landscaping project enhancing the exterior of the 97,600 sq.ft coldstore and distribution centre on the Chichester Food Park.
Work will commence mid November with an estimated completion date of 19/12/11.

Demand for ATV slug pellet application has been high this autumn. This can be attributed to the damp and warm conditions in the field. Slugs can cause serious damage to UK arable crops with winter drilled Oilseed Rape being the most suscepable to grazing damage.
Mulberry contractors have operators who hold National Proficiency Test Council PA4 (granular pesticide application) qualification as per legal requirement.

The first West Dean Festival took place 26th-29th of August, and Mulberry Contractors were asked to provide the site crew for this event. Activities ranged from stage construction and marquee erection to waste management as well as ensuring that the venue was returned back to beautiful parkland once proceedings had finished.
The event takes it influences from The Port Elliot festival at St Germans, Cornwall which is now in its 9th year. We hope to be involved with this event on an annual basis as it becomes increasingly more popular.

Mulberry Contractors Ltd are now members of the SAFEcontractor scheme. It is important to point out that we are not yet accredited, but are working with SAFEcontractor to achieve our accreditation status.
The SAFEcontractor scheme is designed to review and audit the health and safety policies, procedures and documentation of contractors.
Increasingly for many organisations, strict conditions are now in place where you are required to be part of a scheme similar to SAFEcontractor in order to qualify for tenders and contracts, therefore it is essential to ensure that we can demonstrate compliance with current health and safety legislation.

An Astra Van 1.7TD has been added to the Fleet, fully sign written with the company logo. Sign writing was carried out by West Sussex Signs of Emsworth.
The Van will be utilised by the Grounds Maintenance team who carry out commercial grass cutting and general estate works.
Selected students at Westergate Community School have successfully achieved backing from the Prince'sTrust Charity with a Community Cash Award. They are undertaking a pig husbandry project and Mulberry Contractors have carried out construction of the fencing for the project; providing a secure paddock area where the pigs can be kept safely and viewed by the students and local community. The project has been planned and managed by Westergate's Science AST Ali Leslie and will provide students with 'hands on' experience of issues such as health, welfare and financial implications of keeping livestock.

A Milwaukee, Kango 900 breaker has been purchased to allow larger concrete areas to be broken up and removed. It will also to assist on fencing projects. These breakers boast the highest performance and lowest operator vibration in their class.

Landscaping works have been carried out at Kingsbridge Estates latest energy efficient office development 'The Courtyard' at Vinnetrow Business Park. Exotic architectural planting and turfed areas have helped to enhance the exterior of the building.
Awarded exclusive contract for Grounds Maintenance at Langmead Farm's Green Waste Site. The site underpins sustainable production at Langmead Farms. Green waste is shredded within 72 hours and compost is produced by piling the green waste in long wind rows.

This recent purchase is a Nissan Navarra Pick-up 2.5 Double Cab. The Navarra is a rugged, capable working vehicle capable of towing 3000kg.

Mulberry Contractors are now able to offer a stump grinding service. We use a Carlton 2WD Hydraulic Stump Grinder. This two wheeled self propelled stump grinder is designed to provide impressive cutting power in extremely tight places. It has a 27 HP engine and fuel capacity of 15l, and can cut up to 24" below ground.
